MrNewbDigitalPets
A pocket pet that lives on an item. Use it, hatch the egg, and look after the little guy. Runs on Newb_Bridge.
In-development version. These docs cover the testing build of DigitalPets. The official release is still documented on the GitBook linked in its README.
A pocket pet. Players carry one item, use it, and a little handheld pops up. They hatch an egg, name the pet, feed it, play with it, and try not to neglect it. Runs on Newb_Bridge.
What players get
- One item, one pet. Species, name, stats, coins, and level all travel with the item. Trade it, stash it, lose it, and the pet goes with it
- A real routine. Hunger, thirst, happiness, energy, and hygiene drain over time. Feed, water, hug, walk, clean, give medicine, or put the pet to bed
- Play. A handful of small arcade games on the handheld's screen earn happiness and coins
- A coin shop. Toys and fortune cookies cost pet coins, never real money
- Company. Players with their toys open near each other can visit and swap small gifts
- Things to do outside. The pet asks to see a landmark and gives a reward when you get there. Some zones on the map also make certain species happy
- A pedometer. Optional step counting while on foot, which boosts the Walk button. It only lasts for the session
- Neglect has a cost. Leave a pet alone for long enough and it will die
What staff get
An in-game setup panel, /digitalpetssetup. Hatch time, drain rates, care values, rarity odds, the shop, outings, spots, and the handheld prop are all editable there, and saving applies for everyone right away. No restarts.
